MasuーBeige / Natural Clay
Description
Handcrafted by ceramic artist Kifumi Kawamura in Kamakura, this ceramic masu reinterprets the traditional wooden sake box with a contemporary sculptural form. Fired in a historic climbing kiln, Kichuyo, each piece reveals natural variations in texture and tone.
This Beige Masu showcases the warmth of natural clay shaped by the climbing kiln’s unpredictable atmosphere. Soft gradations of light and shadow create an organic, grounded elegance. The matte surface carries gentle traces of ash and flame—sand-toned blushes where the fire kissed the clay. Subtle and earthy, it brings a quiet sophistication to any table setting.
Dimensions:
3 1/2” × 3 1/2” × H. 2 3/8”
(9 × 9 × H. 6 cm)
Sizes may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the work.
It comes in a wooden box signed by the artist.
